Experience and Background:
Anne-Alex Packard brings to her yoga teaching an extensive background in professional dance theater, movement education, sports and dance medicine, somatics and body therapies. She studied and performed in NYC and along the eastern seaboard, and her works have been shown throughout the U.S., Israel and China. She has an MFA in dance, was artistic director of two dance companies and was a dance professor in Connecticut and North Carolina.
Meanwhile, what motivated Anne-Alex was the search to express the heart of the human experience, to move the soul and elicit the desire to grow. Powerfully attracted to yoga while home schooling her two daughters, she became certified in Kripalu style yoga in 1999, in Ashtanga Yoga with David Swenson in 2001. She studied Kundalini Yoga under the tutelage of Bhagti Singh Khalsa in Baltimore for two years.
What Might A Student Experience in Class with Anne-Alex Packard?
Presently, aside from teaching yoga she is a personal trainer, and works with people with Parkinson’s and MS, and with seniors in various fall prevention programs. The focus in all her classes is to foster self-awareness, healing and joy, and for all to leave class basking in their own brightness.
