Experience and Background:
I have taught in Taiwan, Costa Rica, and various states in the U.S., and have led numerous community and privates classes, and workshops. I am a 500hr RYT, receiving my 200hr YTTC in Grand Rapids, MI through Prairie Yoga and my 300hr YTTC in Rishikesh, India through Rishkesh Yog Peeth. My first yoga classes were with my belly dance instructor who also taught Kundalini yoga, setting my foundation and since then has danced, grown, and morphed into my practice which is based off the krishnamacharya hatha yoga lineage.
In the past eight years, I have deepened my yoga practice. I have found comfort and inspiration from studying (hatha) yogic philosophy and practices which have had an immense impact on my physical, and most profoundly, mental state. When the body is free, the mind is at ease. The tools which yoga provides connects the body, mind, and spirit into union…and that is what inspires me to continue to explore and share with others.
What Might A Student Experience in Class with Carlye Cole?
My classes are driven by two simple actions: breathing and movement. Based off hatha and vinyasa style yoga, my instructions are guided by the breath, focusing on each students’ own practice. My attentiveness for others creates an environment for learning and experimentation that allows students to dive deeper into their yoga practice and go beyond the physical form.
