Experience and Background:
Debra Simpson brings more than 30 years of wellness and movement experience into her yoga practice and teaching. She began teaching fitness and was a personal trainer since 1984, then found yoga in 1995. Her passion grew from studying with many modern yoga master teachers including Shiva Rea, Saul David Raye, Judith Lasater, Erich Schiffmann and Rod Stryker and includes a 200 hour certification in the Dynamic Method at Jane’s House of Wellbeing in St. Charles, MO in 2009. She was on the faculty of Webster University in St. Louis, MO teaching yoga as movement to the Theatre Conservatory students from 2002- 2010. Debra has been a catalog leader at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, CA before moving to Boulder. She has taught classes in Boulder since 2012.
Debra believes that we approach the divine through the ancient practices of yoga and meditation, integrating our modern wisdom with balance and harmony, so her classes weave a strong sense of spirit into movement and stillness. She is committed to guiding her students toward finding the middle path between effort and surrender and ultimately into inner peace.

Debra’s classes are designed to reach each individual no matter their experience, so practices will address each student’s ability and desire. Debra offers options and guidance toward finding the personal inner guru in each student. Whether format is vinyasa flow emphasizing alignment or yin or restorative, the middle path to peace, gratitude and self love is her goal.
